Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

The short version: your route files never leave your device, and the only third-party data collection on this site comes from advertising, described in full below.

Your files are processed in your browser

Every TrackKit tool runs entirely on your own device. When you open a GPX, TCX or KML file, it is read into your browser's memory using the File API, converted or analysed locally, and offered back to you as a download. Your files are never uploaded to any server, never stored by us, and never transmitted over the network. We operate no backend that receives route data, so there is nothing for us to log, sell, or lose in a breach.

Information we collect directly

We do not require an account and we do not ask for personal information. We do not run a database of users. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to put in that email and use it only to reply.

Advertising and Google AdSense

This site is supported by advertising, and we intend to use Google AdSense to display ads. To provide and measure ads, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies. Specifically:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • These cookies may collect information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and interactions with ads. This data is handled by Google under its own policies, not by us.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. For more on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google's partner-sites policy. You can also review options for third-party ad cookies at aboutads.info and youradchoices.com.

Cookies

TrackKit itself does not set cookies to track you and does not use them for any of its conversion features — the tools work with cookies fully disabled. Cookies present on the site come from third-party advertising as described above. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings; doing so will not affect any TrackKit tool.

Analytics

If we use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which tools are used, it is limited to aggregate, non-identifying usage counts and never includes the contents of your files, which we cannot see in any case.

Children's privacy

TrackKit is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
